Rental Terms

Driving license:

Driver must hold a valid driver’s license at least for 1 year.

Driver's age:

For car groups A, B, C, the minimum rental age is 21 years. For the other categories, the driver must be over 25 years old.

Payment method:

A valid credit card is required for every rental car as a guarantee, even in case of payment by cash.

Late arrivals:

In case of delay in receiving the car, Holiday Cars will ensure its availability for the next 2 hours. After 2 hours, the car is released and it is available for assignment to another client. In case of flight delay the car will be available after the 2 hours after checking with the flight number, which the renter inserted on car reservation. If no flight number is inserted on car’s reservation, the car is released at the end of 2 hours.

Delivery delay:

In case of car delivery delay up to one (1) hour from the stated delivery time, there is no extra charge. After one (1) hour, the renter will be charged a full day rental.

Delivery / Collection:

Delivery and collection of the car is done in any designated by Holiday Cars location, as well as in any hotel in the island of Lefkada upon request. The place of delivery and collection may vary. Holiday Cars offers delivery and collection of cars during whole day at no extra charge (except in the cases mentioned in the terms Late arrivals and Delivery delay). Long distance pick up (from) and drop off (to) from the headquarters of Holiday Cars have the following fees: a) From Vassiliki to Vassiliki and inversely 20€, b) From Aktio airport to Vassiliki and inversely 15€, c) From Sivota to Vassiliki and inversely 15€, d) From any other location designated by Holiday Cars to Vassiliki and inversely 10€. If the renter abandons or leaves the car in a place other than those specified by the lessor, there is an extra charge of 1€ per kilometer distance from the headquarters of the lessor (Nikiana, Lefkada).

Non car receipt:

If the renter fails to collect the car, there will be a cancellation fee equivalent to 50€.

Prohibitions:

The renter is forbidden

1. to lend or sublet the car to any other person,
2. to drive against traffic regulations,
3. to use the car in any kind of race etc.
4. to carry persons or things beyond defining on the specifications of the vehicle,
5. to let another person to drive the car, which is not declared at the rent contract,
6. to tow another vehicle,
7. to carry animals,
8. to participate with the car in any illegal activity,
9. to allow smoking in the car.

Mileage:

All rentals include unlimited mileage regardless of car’s category.

Fuel:

The renter must deliver the car with the same amount of fuel when he received the car. If the car is delivered with less fuel in the tank than it had when it was received, the renter will be charged the cost of the fuel consumed (fuel price 2 €/lt).

Car insurance: Collision Damage Waiver:

All bookings include C.D.W. The renter's liability for each car group is the following: A,B,C 500€ - C(2017),D,E,F,G,J,K 650€ - S,I,G 800€. Full Damage Waiver: The renter can exempt himself from all liabilities (excluding the underside of the car, glass, mirror, tires and self-damage) by obtaining the F.D.W. and paying an additional amount calculated on daily basis according to the current prices set by "Holiday Cars - Lefkada car rental services", on the condition that renter during the period of the rental complies with all the Traffic Law and any other regulation.

Traffic fines:

Any fine of violations of traffic regulations borne solely by the renter.

Roadside assistance:

Holiday Cars provides 24-hour roadside assistance in all bookings.

Products and services

Additional driver:

Free second driver for all categories. The second driver must display a valid driver's license (see Driving license) and has to be declared before the start of renting.

Highchairs:

Baby/Child seats for all car groups. The renter has to specify the age of the child/children in the booking.

City tax:

City tax is included in the rates of Holiday Cars.
